Safety protocols
In order to ensure perfect management of the boarding procedure from a health and hygiene point of view, self-control and prevention protocols are adopted by means of cleaning, sanitisation, misting and ozonation (yacht interiors) of all contact surfaces and air conditioning equipment (yachts).
STEP 1) CLEANING ACTIVITIES
Those involving the complex of procedures and operations designed to remove dust, unwanted material or dirt from surfaces, objects, confined spaces and areas; consists of the manual or mechanical removal of dirt with water and/or cleaning substances from any type of environment, surface and/or machinery. Cleaning is a preliminary operation that is indispensable for the subsequent chemical sanitisation and spraying phases.
STEP 2) CHEMICAL SANITISATION
Through the use of a specially developed chemical product, for manual or airless application, it is possible to eliminate the presence of viruses from all treated surfaces. The chemical cleaning product relies on the alcohol component and hydrogen peroxide for its sanitising action. In fact, the active principle of the sanitising action of the various compounds used to eradicate viruses and bacteria is the oxidising power of atomic oxygen. Disinfection must be preceded by a cleaning procedure to prevent residual dirt from impairing its effectiveness. STEP 3) NEBULIZATION
The method consists of cold spraying of surfaces with a specific disinfectant product that reduces the microbial load on the various materials, making them clean and safe. The product used is based on quaternary ammonium salts and hydrogen peroxide; its active ingredient is still oxygen in its nascent state as well as the action of the quaternary ammonium salts, so it does not generate or deposit other compounds on the surfaces after its reaction in air. Spraying is most suitable for large or open surfaces, decks, engine rooms, technical and large rooms.
STEP 4) OZONE DISINFECTION (only for indoor environments e.g. Yachts)
Ozone is the most powerful natural disinfectant currently known, it easily reaches the most hidden points, eliminating up to 99.98% of impurities. It can disinfect any type of material or piece of furniture, completely eliminating viruses, mites, insects, spores, mould, harmful chemicals and even smoke and odours. This happens because when this gas comes into contact with organic matter, it triggers a reaction known as “oxidation”. It is able to penetrate fabric fibres, even in the most difficult to reach places, eliminating all kinds of micro-organisms (insects, mould, etc.). The action of Ozone consists of oxidation, and consequent inactivation, of the specific viral receptors used to create the bond with the wall of the cell to be invaded.
STEP 5) BOARDING PROCEDURE
Check-out and check-in operations will be carried out by staff properly equipped with PPE. The boat will be delivered only after sanitation and hygiene operations. Individual customers will be assigned a reserved area where they can spend any time waiting before the handover time and carry out formal procedures.
